After Shelsley Walsh
The Sun shone and we baked at ‘The Best of British’ meeting last weekend at Shelsley Walsh.
Matthew Ryder and Alex Summers won the run-offs – Matthew’s co-driver Sean Gould had an incident in the Esses which denied Matt the chance to qualify for a second win. Although he also had problems Alex Coles still leads our Wynn Developments Top Ten Challenge, ahead of Alex Summers and Matthew Ryder.
Richard Price heads the BMTR with Hoosier Tires Championship with 13 class wins followed by Johnathen Varley and Tom Weaver. However I suggest that Richard Snow, with 5 new class records this year will in a very leading position at the end of season – from now on dropped scores will play a part.
Only one new class record at Shelsley Walsh – Rob Wilson in Class A (i) where Rob, dad Dave and Jon Langmead keep swopping places and therefore points ever weekend.
See you at Prescott.
Best wishes
Bill

Updates after July at Prescott – the Alex Coles show
For the one day event for rounds 11 and 12 at Prescott the weather did it’s very best to disrupt the day with several heavy rain ‘ showers’ . However through to all Alex led tha way and now has a good lead in his class and the Top Ten Challenge, duly being awarded the Midland Championship ‘Competitor of the Meeting’.
Richard Price leads the BMTR with Hoosier Tires class based Championship in his Caterham 7 with 11 class wins this year but is being chased hard by Alex, Richard Snow and Johnathen Varley. With the last 3 weekends all being shared with the British Championship it may change !
The next two weekends at Shelsley Walsh and Prescott are already over-subscribed with reserve lists of competitors and Loton Park is filling up fast. June at Shelsey was the same, but we managed to get all the reserves into the event !! Hopefully we can do the same again – even for those that had forgotten to enter before the closing date.
It was great to see photographs of Dougie Catt at Shelsley Walsh last weekend attending Classic Nostalgia as he continues his recovery at home following his accident at Loton Park !!
I attach details of a Charity Day at Curborough next month being organised by Robin Johnson to support a charity in Africa that he organises – the Ifakara Bakery Project in Tanzania. Check out their website. Please support if you can and drive the track – I certainly plan to do so.
